DIY Fun with Scarves
Scarves are ever versatile and an inexpensive style option and before you know it you have amassed an array of choices, some of which barely see light of day. Put scarves designated to the back of the closet to good use with inventive ways that implement them into useful accessories.
Here are some playful and brilliant ways to recycle some lesser worn scarves to modern and relevant uses.
Â
Braided Statement
You need three small or similar sized scarves in colors that complement each other. Begin by knotting all three scarves together, leave one scarf end a bit longer to help tie the braid up when completed, braid all three scarves together and tie up the ends. Add a new and appealing accent in your classy homemade necklace by mixing it with everyday style for that statement street chic look.
Wear it to add color and pizazz to a neutral combination like block muscle tank blouse over an A-line leather or plaid skirt, fleece overcoat, and kitten heels.
Scarf Bag
What better way to bring about an individual fashion statement than a unique tote bag made from a scarf! All you need is a long oblong or rectangular scarf, one that’s light and printed works just perfect. Begin by making a knot about 10 inches from each end and double knot the ends together in a bow. Pair the edges on both sides together and sew close, leave a gap of about 5-6 inches from the knots tied at the top to leave a wide enough opening on the top. Flip tote inside out and your bag is ready to use.
Carry it along while running everyday errands or on causal outings in a pair of distressed jeans, striped shirt, blended mohair cardigan and ballet flats.

Bracelet
There are several ways to create bracelets from scarves; here is a unique take on wrap chain bracelet guaranteed to offset any neutral toned outfit.
You will need a lightweight small scarf, and chain link. Size the chain link to fit across your wrist. Start by weaving the scarf through the chain link and secure each end by making an additional turn in the loop, once through the chain, wrap the scarf around your wrist and tie it in the back, tuck the short ends in the wrap, and you have a funky bracelet perfect for the office or a night out.
Wear it with any style, especially mono neutral toned ensembles like structured dresses, or leggings and top combinations.
